Dan McLean Jr. will show you how to get the most out of your performance on any stage where there is a microphone.

He employs casual, non-technical language to talk about:

• The characteristics of vocal mics used for live performance

• How to use those characteristics to your advantage vs. letting them take advantage of YOU

• Your proximity and position relative to the microphone

• How to use the microphone so that your quiet singing is heard, while your loud singing is not overpowering

• How to minimize "popping P's"

• Mic'ing a uke on stage, and mic'ing yourself in the studio

 

Dan really understands microphone characteristics, techniques and applications, and will present everything in easy terms, delivering all the knowledge you need to master your mic.

Our presentation is supported with projected visuals and participants will have an opportunity to test what they learn with one-on-one coaching.

 

Dan McLean Jr. is a singer/songwriter/guitarist and live-show producer. His 30 years as a live sound engineer includes 20 years of consulting for Shure, Sennheiser, Neumann, AKG, Beyer Dynamic, Audio Technica and Electro-Voice, helping with product development and beta testing of their mics and wireless products. Since their outset, Dan also consulted for "in-ear monitor" designer/manufacturers Ultimate Ears, Sensaphonics and Future Sonics.
