Steve makes you believe the impossible is possible.
He really can pull white rabbits out of a hat.
We think the world of him.
"LOIS" of SHARON, LOIS & BRAM
Career highlights include my Executive Producer role on Skinnamarink TV - and the marketing that generated 24,000 tickets for eight sold-out performances in a single, four day engagement at Toronto's O'Keefe Centre
I helmed strategic development, marketing and business affairs for all revenue streams:
Led a team of 400+ to deliver 52 episodes of Skinnamarink TV: managed creative development, attracted US$2.6 million in private financing, negotiated broadcast relationships (CBC, Learning Channel and PBS), marketed the series to drive spin-off businesses
Series credit: Executive Producer
CONCERTS & TOURING
Themed and marketed tours of major venues throughout North America: Great Big Tour (71 cities), Candles, Snow and Mistletoe (50 cities including Broadway), All The Fun You Can Sing, Wild About Animals, Let's Dance!
Worked with The William Morris Agency for USA touring and licensing, including a holiday week engagement for Candles, Snow & Mistletoe on Broadway (Nederlander's Palace Theatre)
LICENSING & DISTRIBUTION
Sought and negotiated audio and home video licensing partnerships:
USA: Drive Entertainment (Los Angeles)
Canada: A&M/PolyGram, CapitalEMI, Motion International
Themed, packaged and marketed several audio titles which garnered gold records. Four of these formed the basis for concert touring.
Delivered relationships with: Eaton's, Canada 125, The Learning Channel, Sears, Nickelodeon, The Gap, Telus and local media
KidBits: Negotiated and packaged an audio sampler merchandised at every cash register in Eaton's stores across Canada as part of their 1992 Great Big Tour sponsorship (200,000 units sold out in 2 weeks)
Executive Produced Make a Wish with Sharon, Lois & Bram, the first ever planetarium presentation jointly produced by a consortium (Vancouver, Edmonton, Calgary, Winnipeg, Toronto)
Worked with Times Mirror Multimedia on Cyber Boogie with Sharon, Lois & Bram, one of the earliest interactive CD-ROM games for pre-schoolers
Championed the creation of one of the first comprehensive artist websites for family entertainers
Speaker / panelist at children's entertainment forums in the USA and Canada
Brokered several initiatives with UNICEF and Campaign 2000, including their performance on the White House lawn at President Bill Clinton's annual Easter Egg Roll & Hunt
SL&B established a new standard with their first album, One Elephant, Deux Éléphants in 1978. Their catalogue has since sold over 4 million units. All episodes in each of two TV series, Skinnamarink TV (52) and The Elephant Show (65) end with the trio's hit, Skinnamarink, the latter becoming Nickelodeon's #1 show for pre-school children. They've performed at most major concert venues throughout North America, were invited to meet President Bill Clinton and are members of the Order of Canada.
